A day with the founder of Dukaan App: Suumit Shah
Suumit Shah is a founder and CEO of Dukaan App. Dukaan app is helping people to create their online store in just 30 seconds. Insane right!
When we visited Bangalore for some meetings with StartUp founders and investors, Suumit Shah was one of them. Suumit is a humble and simple person. He shows us his office and introduces his co-founder and team members. We also discussed his successful journey “how he came to Bangalore before two years and built his empire.”
I learn these four things from Suumit,
1. Simplicity
It’s happened to everyone. Whenever we try to solve something, we always make it difficult for others and ourselves. But, Suumit said, I feel every possible thing we can solve simply. It helps us to save our resources and energy. Our Dukaan’s USP is also simplicity. So, keep things simple people will love it.
2. Speed
We are living in the 21st century. And I feel if you are thinking about doing a startup, then you should focus on speed. If you are not focusing on speed, there is always someone who has lots of money who will duplicate your products and acquire your market before you.
Suumit said when I came to Bangalore and got this idea of Dukaan, we created our MVP in a single night and launched it. After that, because of my SEO skills, we get used our products by 20,000 people in a single month and also get started feedback from these people. We built our Dukaan App and became successful because of our speed.
3. Network is Networth
Suumit said if you don’t have any hard skills, also you can build a multi-billion dollar business by using your networks.
When Suumit gets started his career as a digital marketing manager at housing.com, from that day, he started building two things: SEO skills and Networks. After his first job, he started his marketing agency and also worked with thousands of different people. One day, his friend invited him to Bangalore. And because of Covid-19, he was stuck in lockdown for the year 2020. But, he built the Dukaan app by using his network and without writing any line of code in this lockdown.
4. Execution
“Ideas are cheap, execution is important” well said by Mark Zuckerberg.
Suumit said, “If you are travelling in Bangalore’s taxi, then the taxi’s driver will also tell you multiple startup ideas.” But after getting that idea, what and how you are creating and building that matter most. So, don’t just focus on ideas rather than start executing things honestly. You will get 100% results.
Closing Thoughts
By the way, I learnt more things from Suumit, but these four learnings are more powerful and will also help you in your startup journey. So, which learning is helpful to you, please share in the comment.
